OSHA TO BE MORE ACTIVE IN THE FUTURE

With the selection of Congresswoman Hilda Solis (D) of California, President-elect Obama signaled there will be more action and enforcement through OSHA in the future. Refer to the article "GET YOUR HOUSE IN ORDER FOR 2009" in the December, 2008 "Loss Prevention Newsletter" You were reminded of those aspects of the law that require special records and sharing of data with employees on a regular basis. This will be the type of violation that could ultimately prove to be costly should an inspection occur at one of your lodging establishments. It is recommended you copy the article and share it with the supervisory and management staff. It is further urged this become an agenda item for the Executive Committee. Have the members of that team assess where there might be short comings that should be corrected as early in the New year as possible.
