WATER: WILL THERE BE ENOUGH?

Date: 6/1/2009

In many parts of the Nation, continuing drought and over-development are confronting lodging establishments with the question as to whether, or not, there will be sufficient water supplies for normal usage. A major challenge will be the availability of a sufficient static water supply to meet the community's fire fighting needs.

A recent U.S. Fire Administration "Coffee Break Training - Fire Protection Series" addresses this subject and is shared for review with water utility, local fire authorities and other concerned public agencies.

Please see http://www.usfa.dhs.gov/downloads/pdf/coffee-break/cb_fp_2009_19.pdf. Be sure to add to your water availability the water in any pools, decorative water features and underground wells or springs that may be on your premises.
