information and retrieval

information near retrieval
finds documents containing both 'information' and 'retrieval', and these two words are near each other (not apart by ten words).
"information retrieval"
finds documents containing phrase "information retrieval"
information or retrieval
finds documents containing 'information' or 'retrieval'
information not retrieval
finds documents containing 'information' but not 'retrieval'
inform*

(information not retrieval) and WAIS
